Thanks for the compliment on the Koigu socks - I didn't reinforce the heel, but I also know my mother is not one to walk around in her stocking feet, so they should hold up okay. I knit her a pair out of woolier sock yarn (Fortissima, I think) and they're wearing like iron.Donnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13965800336649948583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8466385.post-88715273035573855012008-05-05T16:10:00.000+01:002008-05-05T16:10:00.000+01:00Lisa Lloyd's new book, A Fine Fleece, Knitting wit...Lisa Lloyd's new book, A Fine Fleece, Knitting with Handspun Yarns (from Potter Craft) is out. I knit and weave.... my house is full of fiber and ewuipment for those two activities... there is no room for a spinning wheel too!
I bought the book at my local Barnes and Noble on Saturday and spent Sunday enjoying it.

Barbara M.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8466385.post-64058417163020919742008-05-05T13:11:00.000+01:002008-05-05T13:11:00.000+01:00I agree with your musings over the verb "forge". ...I agree with your musings over the verb "forge". However, I don't agree that the meaning is clear. Is she forging ahead with her knitting or is she urging knitting forward or is she encouraging people to knit? I can't imagine an editor allowing that one through.
Ron in MexicoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8466385.post-46624066393594485172008-05-05T09:12:00.000+01:002008-05-05T09:12:00.000+01:00Polyamide is just a fancy way of saying nylon - in...Polyamide is just a fancy way of saying nylon - in the same way that viscose is rayon.Melhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18047049720897209506noreply@blogger.com
