A long walk in the woods and a lovely lunch sounds perfect. I can't believe you thought it was a pathetic performance because you were a bit tired at the end of it!<br /><br />January days can be quite beautiful when they are as you described with the sun making the ice and frost sparkle. I agree about the absence of the wind. Cold is manageable, wind is not.
