I have seen some people who rejoiced and others who expressed anger about colonialism. I just kept thinking about being 96 and how much she had seen the world change. Also, respect for sticking to the job of being royalty. No it wasn't all perfect but she took up the crown and wore it well.
Now I wonder what will happen to the monarchy under Charles and eventually William.Judyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15392389566932530612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8466385.post-10758517190072872152022-09-10T04:05:45.498+01:002022-09-10T04:05:45.498+01:00As a child in Canada, I have great memories of the...As a child in Canada, I have great memories of the Queen's Coronation. We each received a Coronation coin, a day off school, and hot dogs and ice cream at the local park followed by a wonderful display of fireworks that I can still see in my mind's eye. As a six year old, I had difficulty remembering the change of pronouns in the National Anthem. I can say with all honesty that I thought she would out live me. Rather hard to believe she was mortal. Of course, we shall all miss her.
Ron in MexicoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8466385.post-31826022568098880952022-09-10T02:10:49.196+01:002022-09-10T02:10:49.196+01:00I heard one Canadian citizenship ceremony was able...I heard one Canadian citizenship ceremony was able to quickly change the oath to King Charles III on Thursday afternoon. I don't know whether it was rebooked immediately or whether people will just have to wait.
Ellis LynnAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8466385.post-54785113802914324722022-09-09T21:56:34.972+01:002022-09-09T21:56:34.972+01:00Sending condolences to you on the passing of the Q...Sending condolences to you on the passing of the Queen.
