Apart from some socks on the needles, most of my WIPs are awaiting the "rare peaceful hour" - if some of those come in this post-retirement winter, the result should be three completed sweaters, fiddly bits all done, mistakes resolved, by spring. Will have a look at the McGregor book.
- Beth in OntarioAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8466385.post-8159108636621829352014-10-17T13:36:12.149+01:002014-10-17T13:36:12.149+01:00I imagine Archie has read or heard something about...I imagine Archie has read or heard something about our aging brains. At the moment I've got 'hap for Harriet' for when it's peaceful and quiet, plain socks for conversation and tv, my version of 'ruffles and ridges' (Wendy Johnson) for picking up to knit in the car, cafes and appointments, and my '9 o'clock throw', which is a simple, multi-coloured garter stitch throw which I pick up at 9 every evening.
Liz PhillipsAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8466385.post-56786423060490221382014-10-17T09:32:15.799+01:002014-10-17T09:32:15.799+01:00According to the Acknowledgements in my copy of Mc...According to the Acknowledgements in my copy of McGregor, NMAS means National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (Edinburgh). Is this still in operation do you think? Then one might be able to inspect the jumper itself.
I'm currently working on a waistcoat using patterns from pages 98 and 99 of McGregor. My husband pointed out that the numbers at the bottom of the pages refer to the row count in those patterns.
The shawl pictures looked wonderfully enticing.shandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17372329387935318023noreply@blogger.com
