Jean was taken into hospital on Saturday with clots in her lungs. Ketki and I have just returned from Edinburgh where we found her in good spirits and expecting to be discharged some time later this week. We brought Perdita back to Loch Fyne with us.

ReplyDeleteI was worried that she hadn't posted over the weekend, she is a keen observer of all things and her silence was most out of character.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this post Alexander. I have trained myself not to worry if a day or two goes by without a post from Jean, especially now that she has Perdita around. By this morning I was seriously worried. Please let Jean know we are thinking of her and sending her the best of thoughts (as though you couldn't tell that from all the posts that preceded this one). I am hoping this forced rest will give her some recovery time from all the stress and strain of the last few weeks.
ReplyDeleteThank you for thinking of us, Alexander. All of us send our most healing thoughts and prayers to your parents. Please tell your mom we miss her, but want her to rest and recover quickly.

Dear Jean
ReplyDeleteCatching up with you via your blog is such a part of my day now, it was quite a shock to read you were in hospital. Good to hear you are on the mend. Take care of yourself and best wishes from New Zealand.

As all your virtual friends above have said, all good thoughts, prayers and well wishes coming your way from my corner of the world. Love & Laughter, Mrs. A.

ReplyDeleteWishing for a speedy recovery! All my best, Janet
ReplyDeleteJean,
ReplyDeleteOof. I hope this new trip to the hospital is a brief one. Or at least that it means it's easier to visit your husband? My one stay in the hospital was not particularly calm or restful, so I hope you, too, can be upgraded to either a return home or the Victoria building soon. I've long hoped that my family will pull together the way your family does in times of crisis, so I know you are well cared for. Now let's hope that Perdita doesn't decide that it's the country life for her after her taste of Loch Fyne.
Alexander, thank you so much for taking the time to let us know. Jean, I wish you a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteThank you Alexander for posting. I pray for excellent physicians and a speedy recovery. I send best healing energy for Jean and a return to simple joys, friends, family, relaxation, reading and studies. Much rest to you.
ReplyDeleteBless you, Alexander and Ketki, for calming our anxieties and for providing a channel for us, Jean's friends from all over the world, to express our good wishes for Jean and our prayers for her return to good health. May she and her husband be back soon, enjoying a quiet home life with that delightful new member of their family!

I used to work in radio and television. Each letter was supposed to represent a much larger number of people who would not manage to comment - maybe 1000 in radio and 10,000 in television. Please do feel assured that there are a lot of readers who just don't comment.
best regards
LisaRR
yup. best wishes from a faithful reader who never posts comments. well, rarely!
DeleteThank you for letting us know, and Jean, feel better really soon! Here's hoping the rest of the summer is nowhere near as stressful as the beginning!

ReplyDeleteYou cannot develop pulmonary embolisms/blood clots or any coagulopathy from stress. Headaches and ulcers, yes -- blood clots, no. I would suggest a cardiac workup as atrial fibrillation is often the culprit in us senior citizens and I recall you had some cardiac issues a while back.
