Fiona, thank you for your enormously helpful comment. I should have thought of the Drummond Place website, but I didn’t. I sent my grumble to “enquires.drummondplacegardens@yahoo.com” which sounded plausible and has written to me in the past. It came zipping straight back to me. Before I returned to the fray this morning, I thought it would be a good idea to walk around the garden – and I found my bench back in its place. Indeed, I sat on it for a while. So the crisis is over for now, but I won’t forget.

We’ve had another hot summer’s day. Thunderstorms were forecast, but haven’t happened so far. 1584 steps, again including a Mindful Chef lunch. Poof to the app. Archie came. We didn’t get much done, but what we did, was useful.

I’ve finished reading Il Colibri (“The Hummingbird”), and didn’t like the last 50 pages at all. This week’s Italian essay will write itself. Now I need something to take the taste away.

Our thunderstorm was a tiny thing but I won't complain. A little rain is probably easier on the soil than too much. I'm glad your bench has returned. I wonder if it was simply moved for cleaning.
Too bad about the book ending poorly. Do you ever read fantasy?

  2. You could have some of our thunder if you like. I might even let you have some of our rain because the tanks, even our big one, are full to overflowing. (We Downunderites do not usually give away rain!) It has been good weather to be inside here but I need some exercise too.

Did I do something technically wrong or is there another reason. My "sent" Comment did not appear. Chloe

Oh, it must have been a technical problem. Briefly, my husband must walk a lot after some leg surgery. When it is too hot, he walks all over the house for 30 minutes at a time. Not very exciting but it gets the job done. Sorry about the unpleasant book ending, Jean. At least you got some Italian practice out of it. Chloe

  5. I am visiting family in NJ, where it not as hot as the Midwest! A rare thing. We are still in drought out there. I have been helping my 9 year old great niece clean and organize her room, especially needed after a year of distance learning. It's exhausting. Who knew?
