I think perhaps I felt a bit better today. I spent less time in bed -- although I'm looking forward to getting back to it.

I even did some knitting -- an hour of Coofle while listening to Arne and Carlos at Setesdal. It was fairly tedious. So indeed was the knitting -- the yarn is really pretty thin, and an hour accomplishes nothing. My next job is to resume wee Hamish's Calcutta Cup vest. Important.

I wonder if the World Service will broadcast tennis during the night?  I heard at least one of Andy Murray's US Open matches that way. We're all in a flutter over Emma Raducano over here.

Hooray for knitting! Perhaps if you keep the picture of the Coofle visible while you knit, looking at that pretty yoke will support you during the long stretch of the body.

  2. Just looked Emma up (I don't follow tennis) and she seems to be thoroughly trouncing her opponents so far. Hope it continues!

  3. The Millarochy Tweed does fluff up nicely when blocked. Pleased to hear better news of your health.

  4. Yes, the Calcutta Cup Vest is important. Hamish will not be the lovely wee boy he is forever.

  5. Glad to hear you have more energy and did some knitting. I agree with Judy that little boys grow very fast. Back to the vest!

  6. Tennis - well as you may know by now, Emma is on to the finals with Layla ... i really wanted Sabalenka to win but she played very unevenly.... both the 18yos are getting major hype over here... it will be interesting to see how they are tomorrow. of course playing on 9-11 is also a bit sticky - i honestly cant believe the USOpen is having the match that day but i guess $$$ ...

anyway its going to be a hard day for many of us here in NY (although i have moved north of NYC that is recent) i saw the second plane hit...... my downstairs neighbor at the time worked for one of the companies above the strikes but was on vacation .... everyone in the city has a story or two like this or worse

    hope you are feeling better

  7. btw you can listen in on the usopen.org website. they are streaming audio coverage - it wont be the ESPN announcers (Evert and McEnroe or Shriver (it changes) but they are usually very good.
