Another sparkling, bitter-cold day. Quiet here.

I made some progress with knitting, including counting stitches. The overall count is nearly right. I’m inclined to leave it be, retaining my notes. Brioche stitch under whatever name is a bit tricky count-wise.

Wordle: we were spread all over the place today. Two for Ketki, three for Thomas and Mark, four for me and Rachel, five for Alexander. Theo and Roger in DC were three and four respectively.

I am sorry to be so brief. Helen has just been here and we paid some bills. It’s late and very dark.

Toronto just passed the 5pm sunset last week. Every minute of daylight helps! Although this week it is super sunny, because it is so cold. This week I don't think it will get much warmer than -6 or -7C/about 20F.
Have you been able to increase the heating to be more comfortable? Apologies if I missed something obvious. I was not sure why the house can't stay heated at 21C or higher if you and your team of helpers are cold.
    Thanks for the post!

That's the trouble with having an Aga as your only source of heat. It tends to mainly heat the kitchen.
I recently saw an advertisement for a 3-wheeled mobility scooter that comes part into two pieces for storage, and also can fold into a compact square with wheels and a handle for storage or for travel in a car or airplane. The heavier half weighs 37 lbs. But it is narrow enough in the photo, and looks like it would maneuver in an apartment. It's called the ATTO SPORT, and the ad refers to "worldwide" sales. It might be worth looking up.

All sorts of plug in heaters available, at modest prices. Yes, you have to pay for the energy but it's sure to be cheaper than residential care ...
