I'm alive and well. Archie is here. My husband had a blood sugar level episode yesterday and remains cross. FiberQat, I've got my taskbar back -- many thanks. See you tomorrow, insh'Allah.
I use Open Office, so I checked on Hanging Indents. They're not hard to produce, but choose a time when you can spend a few minutes to set up a style for them. Fear not — it's more complicated to read about than to accomplish.
Select a paragraph, then go to Format > Paragraph > Indents & Spacing. Enter a positive number in the "Before Text" field, and the corresponding negative number in the "First Line" field. Choose "OK", and see what you've wrought.
When you're happy with the formatting, here's how to save the style for use again.
Make sure the newly styled paragraph is selected. Then go to Format > Styles & Formatting. A popup window will appear. In the upper right corner of that window, choose the tiny drop-down arrow, and then "New Style from Selection." Give your new style a name. Then you can close the popup window.
Now you can apply the new style at any time. A dropdown list of available styles appears at the top of the main writing window, just to the left of the font list. Just select the text you want affected, and then the style you want to use.
