Helen is now in Kirkmichael. The responsibility for my dear cats is being passed from hand to hand. The weather is cold and blowy.

All continues peaceful here. I got bounced to the hairdresser this morning — in the sense that I hadn’t intended to go, or made an appointment. He has done a good job. I didn’t go to the knitting class — it was in the middle of my naptime. A physiotherapist turned up and we went through another set of exercises.

Despite a day’s hard knitting, Lilias Day is only five inches long. Impossible! I have made serious inroads on the first ball of yarn — that’s something. And Ooskit (if that’s what it’s called) comes in 100-gram skeins.  There are only three shades of it, all natural greys. Rather unexpectedly it makes a lovely soft fabric. The only way to go is on.

Glad to receive posts from the field, as it were. And also glad you are receiving PT or at least exercises to do.
Your knitting seems to be proceeding even if you don't notice much progress. Is it knit in the round? Stockinette can seem endless, but easy.

  3. You might want to take a look at the Knitting Harlot's latest; she also is finding that her knitting is making no progress. Good luck with yours.

Just catching up as I am renovating the backyard into a secret garden It’s a wee space. Just wanted to say that you can listen to radio 4 on your iPad using the bbc app. It’s called bbc sounds. It’s easy to install. And had a nice interface. Yes I am an American addicted to bbc radio. I listen to midnight news. Today on parliament and six o’clock news as well as the world at one. And desert island discs and gardeners question time and of course all the comedies and mysteries anc radio 3. There is nothing like bbc radio.

I'm a little surprised that they arbitrarily sent you to the hairdresser, but as long as they listen and do a good job, I guess it's all right.
Stockinette is forever, until suddenly it reaches a changed length. Even on hats.
