Today’s news, of course, is Kate Davies’ illness. The club has been suspended until September – that’s quite a long time. I hope we’ll hear more soon.

Greek Helen sent me this link to a Twitter post about a clandestine mosaic of hers not far from here. The Twitterer somehow found out that Helen was responsible, and sent the link to her.

Not much news here, as usual. Alexander came to see me, as often on a Wednesday, and we walked twice around Drummond Place Gardens, so that’s two days in succession. I have bound off the other shoulder of the Stronachlachar, and picked up the stitches for the neck ribbing. Getting stitches off waste yarn and back onto a needle is never very easy, for me.

Thank you for all your kind comments about my cruise. Tamar, Caithness is off to the east (I couldn’t have told you that yesterday). We will sail up the west coast of Scotland, nearly to the top, but won’t head eastwards. I looked at Gordon Reid’s blog and – if I hit upon the right man – found interesting autobiography, but no knitting. I had much the same experience with the monk on the final page of the new IK.

I’ve finished “Case Histories”. The woman on the radio yesterday said that she had read it when it was new, as I had, and thought a skim would be enough when it was assigned for her appearance on “Good Reads”, but found that she was reading every syllable again. Me too. It’s funny how memory works. I remembered some bits clearly, others not at all.

  1. The sequence of events leading to Kate Davies' announcement has been quite distressing to witness. I don't use Instagram but there were quite enough reverberations on Kate's Ravelry group to get the gist. Let's hope that she is able to recover her health.
What a great cruise to have in prospect! This may be confirmation that you are suffering from SAD, as a spring seems to have immediately entered your step.

    1. Yes ABSOLUTELY HORRID. It upset me terribly. Bullying is despicable. I pray that KDD recovers. It’s just appalling. And of course as soon as the announcement of the temporary stop of the current club due to KDs illness the disagreeable despicable posts stopped. And none of them posted anything about her illness. As a victim of bullying this is of course resonant for me. Compassion and decency oh where are you? I despair of the mores of the younger generations raised behind anonymous posts and FB and IG.

Sigh. Listening to Bach WTC played by Edward Aldwell to help soothe before heading off to work.

I think you need Gansey Nation by Gordon Reid at www.ganseys.com

    Most interesting!

    Hope this is useful.

I suspect the Gordon Reid in question can be found at Gansey Nation (www.ganseys.com). A blog I tend to forget about and then am delighted to rediscover each time I see it mentioned.

Every time Alexander comes to visit you he is putting money in his emotional bank. I wonder if he realizes that. Or if he just feels lucky he has you. Chloe

I am sorry to hear that KD may have a recurrence of the unspeakable disease and that she is being pummeled by bullies. What is wrong with people?
I downloaded her Stronachlachar yesterday. Never having created a cable in my life, I will use it to learn new stitches and techniques. KD is a remarkable artist, don't you think? May the artist rest in her accomplishments and her abusers boil, boil, toil and trouble within. be well! pgnitter
