I didn’t go out today, and feel the worse for it. I did have my bath, and that was lovely; and washed my hair and look fully as horrifying as any of Macbeth’s witches. Helen(anon), yes, my bath has good solid handles, and is, moreover, not alarmingly high. I don’t have one of those non-slip mats, and should get one. The process, once I actually embark upon it, is never as scary as I anticipate.

Dawn, I wrote to you yesterday, in the form of a comment here, and just as happens to so many of us, once I had finished my message and polished it and clicked “Publish” , it vanished into the ether. I do exactly as you say – send photos from the iPad to myself. They usually go into the iPad’s own Mail app – I use Safari – and most of the time they can be found in the Outbox there and sent on to Safari. No longer. They’re there, but they won’t go forward. I tried taking a picture of the scarf – which is looking rather well – on my telephone, but that, too, has failed to go forward.

I feel there should be more to report, in these strange times. I got a delivery slot at Tesco today, for Sunday afternoon. I log on three or four times a day and usually there’s nothing. I don’t really need any more food at the moment – Helen and David are taking good care of me. But I grabbed it and filled it up with cider and cat food.

I knit as I watch the government's daily briefing, in lieu of Pointless which it has replaced. I'd like to watch Governor Cuomo and President Trump. Does anyone know how that can be done?

  1. I find both Governor Cuomo and President Trump on YouTube. The governor's updates tend to be in the morning, and the president's task force updates in the afternoon, EDT.
Gov. Cuomo is easy to listen to, he is clearly concerned and doing his best to care for his state.
Think twice about watching the president, although there have been a few classic moments.

  2. You could get the Fox News app, I bet. I watched Gov. Cuomo this morning.
I think you have to turn on sharing so that you can share photos between devices. Go to settings and see. Once you get the option to share, you just respond to prompts. They are downloaded to your computer, so go to downloads. Then you can upload them and store them in your photos. Just go to FILE and choose upload.
Cider. I think I'd like some cider.
I'm sure your hair is lovely, not MacBeth-y.

  4. Yeah, if you look for "Fox News" on youtube, they have a live stream going pretty much every day and on it, the Presidential briefings as well as the ones from New York get played. I've also seen the New York City briefings on there as well.

  5. Governor Cuomo can be watched every day on YouTube. I can't watch the president so I don't know about him.

Congratulations on keeping up a routine lifestyle. Mine has gone completely to pot.
On the whole I prefer the freshly-washed look to the alternative. It always sticks out over my ears anyway, in a kind of Scrooge McDuck effect.

Pointless gets switched to BBC2 at very short notice. I found it there today with 30 mins to spare!

  8. It's odd how each day swings from 'getting things done' to 'all enveloping lethargy'. I'm going to have to find a way to match activity with food consumption or else resign myself to slowly becoming larger. Still, I'm managing to just about maintain progress on four knitting/crochet projects. I pick the one to work on according to concentration levels at the time.

  9. I’m not sure how updated your iPad and phone are, but you should be able turn on airdrop to send between the two. It is amazingly easy after the first time. It is a benefit for multi-apple users for sure. I’d be happy (or I’m sure Archie would) to do a skype tutorial if you need it!

  10. Jean, we have splurged on a BritBox subscription (streaming service in the U.S.) and on Tuesday I saw that Pointless was among the programs! Alas, only two episodes are available, and we have now watched them both. It was great fun, and I would not have recognized the title without your blog references to it over the years.

    1. This is good to know. We're contemplating dumping Acorn tv and switching to BritBox.

Just now looked up Pointless, Jean, after all these years of hearing you talk about it. A great way to keep your mind young. Chloe

  12. If you watch Fox news you may become nauseous. It is a bunch of people representing those who have little interest in ‘the greater good’.

Why would you use a delivery slot when you have family to shop for you and by your own admission you didn't need food? I have to stay up until midnight to queue for a delivery slot in 3 weeks time as I have nobody to shop for me thanks to people who use delivery slots they don't need.

    1. Sorry for your troubles but really it is not necessary to berate Jean! Honestly. In this time we are all frustrated about something.

  14. F. You take photos in your iPhones iPad they in photos app this can bee synced to your apple account in the iCloud. If yo do that then you can take a photo in any iOS device and it will be available on any other device. So check to see if you have enabled iCloud. I’ll search out directions for you and email them to you. That will solve your acces issues.
